SUMMARY:Clarion Conservation District: Forestry Walk
DESCRIPTION:Join the Clarion Conservation District\, Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR)\, Cook Forest Conservancy\, Penn State Extension\, and a forester from the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture for a forestry walk covering topics such as the benefits of trees pertaining to climate change such as forest carbon sequestration\, impacts to soil temperature/health\, and climatic history records that can found through tree ring analysis and other data; common invasive species and  how to remove/ prevent them following integrated pest management (IPM) practices; and climate change impacts on tree species distribution/populations. \n\nDirected towards 18+ years old. A FREE native tree and tree tube will be given to the first 25 Clarion County residents that register AND attend. 5 FREE kits for mechanical removal of invasive species will be raffled off at the program\, eligible to Clarion County residents who attend and complete a post-program survey. \n\n\nRegister by May 13th\, 2026. \n\n\nQuestions?
