German Roots in Pennsylvania's Present
Fryburg was named for Freiburg, Germany – where many of its skilled workers emigrated following the Revolutionary War and into the 19th century. St. Michael’s Church (of the St. Joseph’s parish) in 1882, the Washington House (circa 1879), and various homes are remnants of that distant past, with the oldest having been built in 1844.
