The wild Clarion river is one of the best rivers in western Pennsylvania for its scenic beauty, water quality, and archaeological significance. It crosses Clarion County from Cook Forest down to join the Allegheny river near the charming resort town of Foxburg. The beautiful Clarion river meanders through narrow valleys of hardwood forests. Intermittent riffles and rock outcrops offer an ever-changing scenery.
Iconic lookout spots include the Cook Forest Fire Tower, the Allegheny River Trail Bridge overlooking the confluence of the Allegheny and Clarion rivers in Foxburg, and the East Brady Outlook, which offers stunning views of Brady’s Bend.
